No work of fiction or nonfiction has done what Case White does in this monumental new novel by USA Today bestselling author Thomas Sullivan. Set in the era of two world wars, this comprehensive work weaves together the bizarre mythology and eccentric beliefs that explain how a nation went insane for twelve years. Told through the compelling lives and loves of a pair of very unique characters, this tour de force will take you into a radical blend of religion and myth frighteningly similar to what is going on in parts of the world today. Certain to be a benchmark work of elegantly written fiction and historical perspective, Case White delivers a poignant people story played out on a grand stage.

Case White packs a powerful punch that will leave you wobbling around with a smile on your face and goose bumps running up and down your arms for days. Thought provoking and wholly captivating, it’s the most gripping book I’ve read this year. Sullivan is a master at taking numerous genres and pouring them on the canvas Jackson Pollock style, the results of which have earned him a Pulitzer nom, the Hemingway Days Literary Award, and USA Today bestselling status. I started with the beautiful and poignant THE PHASES OF HARRY MOON and then began haunting the library, tracking down all of his titles. Yep, he’s one of those authors – the kind that gets you up on your feet and dancing when you realize he’s got some fourteen or so books you can throw yourself into. Case White might just be the best of the bunch, and for a fan like me, that’s saying worlds!Product details

Case White Thomas Sullivan 9781941408834 Books Reviews
I thought this was a very entertaining read. It was such a page-turner. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind reading about the atrocities of Nazi Germany. Great job, Sully!
Awesome
How can you not give this book five stars! You're captivated from the first page until the last. Sullivan weaves his stories with silk thread. He is one of the few writers who can write from the soul. Case White is a book that needs to be put down from time to time so you can think. Who else can go from Longhinus to Hitler linking each historical episode with such precision? The man is a hunk of gold.
CASE WHITE is BRILLIANT. What eloquent and beautiful writing. The words slip off the page, glistening with poetry and deep reverberations through the soul. The story, and writing, are visceral, cerebral and so filled with heart and emotion. An incredible journey. Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and grab a copy of this book. It's a delight to consume, to savour, to enjoy at every level, and it tells an important (and historically accurate) story about the nature of humanity. You'll be shocked. You'll see Hitler and his obsessions in a completely different light. And you'll be left wondering about the structure of reality... Yes, CASE WHITE is BRILLIANT!
I am still reading this book and will return to re-post a review. Thus far it has held my attention and I am getting great history lessons as well as the mighty drama of the times in which the book takes place. Thomas Sullivan is one heck of an author and I am one of his fans for life. This rating is how I feel about what I've read so far, almost half. I doubt it will change much if at all.
This story is simply amazing. A book 39 years in the making, and it shows from page one. Case White is historical thriller with unbelievably detailed research. Characters come so alive that it is hard to believe they are simply creations from the mind of this great author. Sullivan has poured his soul into these characters and brought them to life. You will read about one Mika Lott, and you will find yourself starting to cherish this wonderful and tragic character as you travel through the pages of our world’s darkest history side by side with this inspiring man, wishing you could share his burden, lighten his load, or simply let him know that his struggle is worth it.
But the characters are real…mostly, for in the first line of the first chapter, the author speaks directly to us the reader, telling us to trust him while he tells us history. “Mostly history, with just a few inventions“ He then goes on to spin a story so intricate, so detailed, so full of life and death, or raw emotions, of fear, of bravery, and you soon find yourself so caught up in it that you start to realize that this is the kind of story that changes you. It is the kind of book that if read by enough people will become a lasting testament to the mind and greatness of this author. I love books, and I love history. I read a lot of books and seldom leave reviews…but this one deserves recognition for the depth of its research, the complexity of the story and the greatness of the storytelling.
The pace quickens towards the end of the book and you find yourself feeling like you are on a runaway train…headed for a collision that you know is inevitable, but so entangled in the story that you cannot disengage…Wonderful writing, wonderful story…Thank you Thomas Sullivan!
With Anthony Burgess and Umberto Eco gone, there is a considerable gap in world literature that needs to be filled. Dan Brown is a sorry band-aid solution. For the fans of erudite, complex, cryptic fiction that is loaded with esoteric references and challenges every brain cell, there is Thomas Sullivan, a Pulitzer Prize nominee. Having made a name for himself before the digital era, he is making a comeback. If you had not discovered him in the 80s and 90s (back when people had stronger stomachs, longer attention spans and more vivid imaginations) this is your chance to become acquainted with his marvelous work. Set between the two world wars, "Case White" is a nightmarish tale of obsession. His usage of first person omniscient narrator and present tense enhances the eerie noir ambiance. Who is that nameless omniscient narrator that seems to get into every character's head? Is he God or the Devil? If you pick up "Case White", you will not be sorry. But prepare to engage all your brain cells. This is not a light read.
