While I enjoyed this short story and was entertained for a while, I couldn't help but be distracted by the grammatical errors and the change in voice from first to third person. Still, all in all a nice story.
Smart ass me thought I knew what was coming at the end! HA! I loved it! I am happy to write this review and give it 5 stars.
I received this story as part of a member giveaway from LibraryThing. It is a very short story, only about ten pages. I felt it was more of a college project instead of a novella. It had an interesting premise, but it needs a lot of editing and revising. The author has a nice style of writing, and it would be interesting to read this if the author chooses to expand the story.
I received this free to read and review from Library Thing. This is an interesting short story. Despite the changes from first to third person, it is well done. What would I do or how would I react if a cruise ship I was on had problems/an accident, and I had evacuate? I have not thought very much about this, but this story brought it all home to me. The author meets us with a young girl during the evacuation, and tries in vain to find her family while looking for ways the lifeboats. When he finally gets to them, he discovers something amazing about the young girl, which I was not expecting. I had figured out some of the story but not this part before the end. The story was interesting and strange and enjoyable. I look forward to reading more by this author.
